Until 1882, date of the setting up of the parish by Bishop Mouard, the Catholics of Glacis were going to the Cathedral.
Father Jean Damascène was the first parish priest, but didn’t live there. The first resident parish priest was Father Célestin (1883-1891). Father Venance, who replaced him, finished the church which was blessed by Bishop Hudrisier.
Renovation in 1999.
The actual priest’s house was built by Brother Gélase in 1935. As of 1894, Bishop Hudrisier brought in the Sisters of Cluny, who left in 2004. A school was built by the Mission in 1965.
