After his secondary studies, he entered the noviciate of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit. He made his profession
in 1960 and studied philosophy at the Spiritan Seminary in Dublin, Ireland. He did his theological studies at the Pontifical
Gregorian University, Rome.
Until his nomination in the Diocese in 2001, Bishop Wiehe exercised different ministries in the Diocese of Port-Louis, and
in his religious order.

Bishop Wiehe took on two mandates (2007-2013) at the head of the Episcopal Conference of Bishops of the Indian Ocean (CEDOI).
In 2009, the President of the Republic, Mr James, Alix Michel agreed to his request to obtain Seychelles citizenship.

• On 1st June 2002, Bishop Wiehe succeeds
