A first church blessed on 27th July 1888, was built by Brother Didace on a site offered by the Loumeau family. Father Ange became the parish priest.
Previously the Catholics went to mass at Anse Boileau.
The Port Launay site not being central enough, Father Florian built the actual church and the priest’s house at Port Glaud.
