In 1854, Father Léon des Avanchers built the first chapel out of wood.
The parish was set up in 1866, with Father Valentin as parish priest.
The church was consecrated by Bishop Gumy on 4th January 1931 and renovated in 1958 and 2006.
1936: construction of a school for boys, whereas the Sisters of Cluny had already opened in 1876, a school for girls, which they managed until their departure.
