Before becoming a parish in 1868, Anse Boileau was served by Fathers Théophile and Matthias who came from Anse aux Pins. There was then a chapel next to the Bâillon Bridge. Father Martin, the parish priest, built the
first church and the priest’s house.
The actual church was built by Father Gabriel Zelger in 1910.
The carved repository, above the altar, is the work Mr Jean Pool.
The church was renovated in 2001.
The Sisters of Cluny were at Anse Boileau from 1894 to 1989.
