Father Théophile arrived on La Digue in October 1853.

During 6 years, he travelled between Praslin and La Digue, and visited the lepers of Curieuse Island.
1877: setting up of the first Mission school.
1889: Bishop Mouard brought in the Sisters of Cluny who stayed until 1944.
1897: Bishop Hudrisier blessed the new stone church which was renovated in 1986.
1970: arrival of the Sisters of Saint Elisabeth.
11th March 2011: Bishop Wiehe blessed a building near the church, housing a parish hall and a funeral parlour

Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto

This grotto was built in memory of the ‘Grande Mission’ of 1951.
