Saint Anne, Praslin

On 18th October 1853, Father Théophile arrived on Praslin. He settled at Côte d’Or, at Anse Dumont. The Christians
met in their houses. Father Bonaventure built a chapel in 1877.

On 25th September 1887, Bishop Mouard laid the foundations for a first wooden church at Baie Sainte Anne.
The construction of a stone church ended in 1945, with Father Claude as parish priest. The church was consecrated by Bishop Maradan.

In 2002, the parish, as that of Grand’Anse was entrusted to the Spiritan priests. Fathers Lucien Pochon was the first Spiritan parish
priest, followed by Father Adrien, assisted by Brother Raymond until 2012. On 22nd January 2006, Bishop Wiehe blessed the renovated church.
