Pointe-Au-Sel
Pointe-Au-Sel

As early as February 1884, Bishop Symphorien Mouard had expressed the desire that Pointe-au-Sel should be attached to Anse aux Pins parish.
In 1924, Mrs Despilly Jorre de St. Jorre temporarily bequeathed a site to the Catholic Mission of Seychelles, to build a chapel and a building in which to teach catechism.
On 6th May 1934, the old chapel was demolished to make place for a new one that was used as a place of worship and school.
The new chapel built on a site henceforth belonging to the Diocese was consecrated by Bishop Wiehe on 15th February 2009; she is still attached to Anse Royale parish.
