The idea of setting up a parish in this district originated in the 1990s. After negotiations with the government, the Catholic Church obtained an exchange plot situated in the plateau of Anse des Genêts.
The church was consecrated on 14th May 2006 in the presence of the Bishops of the CEDOI. She is served by the parish priest of Anse aux Pins.
